The company was started with the purpose of developing and marketing electric drives for main propulsion and other electrical automation products for sailboats.
In December 2004, the company was presented with an exceptional business opportunity when the ASMO Marine solution to electric propulsion systems for sailboats was discovered. After that, we proceeded with setting up an agreement to begin importing and distributing complete electric propulsion systems, mainly for sailboats, from Europe. Along with these systems come a number of support products and accessories. To fully pursue this opportunity our company incorporated in January 2005.
Our mission is to import or manufacture, market, sell and service electric main propulsion systems and other electric automation products along with support products to a large and steadily growing leisure boating market, specifically sailboats. We promote the fact that electric propulsion is a clean, non-polluting form of propulsion that will also greatly reduce the dependency on fossil fuel. Also, performance is much better than the diesel engines, presently being used, at lower speeds and the overall energy usage is small because of the drive system’s capability of regenerating back to the batteries when in motion (typically under sail). This means that charging from another power source may only be necessary in very few situations. Even if you have a generator installed, this will be a useful feature that can save you money in the long run. You can avoid running the generator unless it is absolutely necessary, or use the energy for something else.
